Dr. Giovanna Romano
Veterinarian, ECAR certified. Veterinarian for Varenne for 14 years.
Dr. Giovanna Romano founded the Equine Center Arcadia in 1998 and coordinates all technical-veterinary activities, with a particular focus on equine reproduction and breeding challenges. She oversees all stages of foal development, from birth to 18 months.
Education
Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Turin in 1989. In 2002, she earned her diploma from the European College of Animal Reproduction (ECAR) in Vienna. From 1988 to 1990, she was an assistant in Ireland at Rathbarry Stud, a thoroughbred horse breeding farm.
Field Experience
Over 10,000 mares of all breeds have been treated during her career, inseminated with fresh or frozen semen. She has managed dozens of stallions through semen collection and natural breeding. Over the years, she has specialized in excellence-driven services to address reproductive challenges.

Every breeding season, she hosts graduates for a full-immersion experience.
Annually, she organizes courses open to the public on foaling assistance.
Giovanna Romano has been a long-time speaker at conferences for the Italian Society of Equine Veterinarians (SIVE) and the Italian Society of Equine Reproduction (SIRE).
